Bleck.

That's right. Bleck.

For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, this website is actually a personal website. Not a fanclub.

I originally created it to be a fanclub. It originally wasn't anything else but a list of members, a few images, and links. Very humdrum.

Then I started adding pages. Information. Analyses. It was fun, but it no longer was a fanclub. It became a personal page, and thus nothing more than a giant ego stroke as well as somewhat pointless.

It smarts to think that one has created a page without a purpose. Then a conversation with a friend who didn't see the point in fanclubs waved reality under my nose with this thought:

It really is next to impossible to create a fanclub over the 'Net.

There isn't any face to face interaction. No exchange of anything. Fanclub sites are usually just a list of members, a link back logo, and a few images here and there. No interaction.

A fanclub cannot exist on the 'Net without interaction. I don't know of many online fanclubs that are, in all actuality, fanclubs. I believe the Nakago Ruling Class is truly a fanclub. The amount of exchange of thoughts and beliefs at that site is incredible.

I believe the reason why the NRC worked and few of the other FY fanclubs worked is because of the quality of the Nakago fans. To be a Nakago fan, you need to be willing to stand up for one whom many feel to be the scum of the universe. You must be mature enough to think things out and refute any flames that come your way. You must be willing enough to talk to others and discuss ideas and issues that pertain to your favorite character.

To be frank, Nuriko fans consist mainly of a bunch of cutsey driven fangirls with nothing but the word "wai" between their ears.

That's why I don't think this fanclub works. There isn't any interaction. All attempts at interaction end with something like, "oh, Nuriko-kun is so kawaii!" Either that, or total indifference. It drives me bonkers, although sometimes, I admit I am one of the indifferent people.

While I admit that being apathetic to Nuriko's fanbase isn't a solution to the problem, this indifference resulted from having to deal with bad punctuation, grammer, and other such things. Reading incoherent e-mails and thoughts from seemingly dim-witted fans would be enough to drive anyone insane, if not into seclusion.

Anyways, all this site really boils down to is a bunch of requisite links and logos with a bunch of opinionated pages by yours truly. My friend suggested I take down the members' pages and just turn this entire thing into a personal fanpage. Send the list of members to another Nuriko fanclub and change the site.

However, I'm stubborn. This was the first Nuriko fanclub. The title is "The Nuriko Fanclub." It's known as the NuriFC. It was listed in Ayashi Ceres (by Yuu Watase *ba-dump*) as the Nuriko Fanclub. I'm not renaming it. I'm not going to toss the members.

But until some fans actually have an indepth conversation with me about any of those opinions I have on the site and are willing to take things beyond a few exchanged e-mails and declarations of undying Nuriko-love, this site is just a personal site.

hmm. I have an old rant about fanclubs and FY sites in general here, if anyone is interested.
