Major Characters:

Maizuru Motoya (32) is a clairvoyant PI that avoids touching people (for obvious reasons) and relationships. Nakagawa Toki (25) is Motoya's underling. Calls Motoya 'boss' and handles the people side of the business. Scared of cats, poor lad.
Yamashita Hajime is a cop that comes to Maizuru when he needs extra help with a case. He's deadpan, somewhat evil, and the father of a set of cute twin girls. Smokes a lot too.

The Story

Maizuru (tsuru?) is a PI with an underling named Nakagawa and a grumpy, smokestack of a friend named Hajime.

Maizuru doesn't like to be touched (for obvious reasons), and Nakagawa doesn't know why. He thinks it's because Maizuru doesn't like him, and that makes him sad! He has a thing for Maizuru, and he's sad when Maizuru jumps onto a desk to avoid touching him. After getting information smacked into him by Hajime, Nakagawa goes to Maizuru's house and proceeds to convince Maizuru that his feelings are genuine. Much boinking ensues.

The other stories are about a girl that beats up Nakagawa (who she turns out to be, and how Maizuru finds out, is pretty funny), a trip to hot springs, and several cases of "find-my-partner", where the latest psycho has kidnapped one or the other.

Commentary

I wasn't really fond of this story, because Maizuru is a WIMP. He angsts, he fluctuates, he's freaking weak; all in all, he's an uke. But does he need to be so obvious about it?

Nakagawa is a pretty neat character, but I didn't get a really good feeling for him. He's simply a decent, strong character. Nothing else really stands out, other than his love for Maizuru and his unreasonable fear of cats. Oh, and his funny relationship to the girl that beats him up.

Hajime is cool, I think. He's eternally POed, and has a loving wife and 2 cute twin daughters. He looks after Nakagawa and Maizuru, and boy do they need looking after.

mmm. The art is spectacular. Naono's art always is. Wrinkles, inks, etc are fantastic. I love them.

Also, a graphic comic for those that are interested.

I think, I would only recommend this comic if you don't mind weepy ukes that angst a lot. Maizuru is the main character, and if you can't stand people like that, then perhaps you shouldn't read this comic.
