The Story
Kai went to visit the ocean and nearly drowned. Luckily for him, Kagetsu found and saved him from a watery grave. Kai, however, is convinced that the fishman that rescued him was just a dream. But, why is his body heating up?
And why does the prince he has to work with look like that fishman?
It's pretty obvious what's going on. Kagetsu is convinced Kai is the one for him, and is pursuing him with all his might. However, the royal merman family wants their wayward child back, and have sent an older brother, Sakuya, to retrieve him. This might have been more effective, if Sakuya hadn't met Kai's neighber, Toba, and given into his obssessive cleaning tendencies.
Commentary
It's so obvious that this story is just a fluffy, happy yaoi comic from the summary. It's the typical story where the pursue-er is chasing the pursue-ee with the typical results of, "why are you doing this? stop it, you freak!"
Only, it's more like, "stop it, you freak of a fish!"
What amuses me a bit more is how in the plotless yaoi comics, the uke can't resist the attentions of the seme because his body won't let him. Here, Kai is predestined to give into Kagetsu, because Kai's body keeps reacting to him (not in that H sense, but as in the body keeps heating up).
What's cute though, is Sakuya and Toba's interactions. My gosh, are they cute. I can't resist stuff like that. And Toba thinks Sakuya is a kappa, but doesn't care because he LOVES Sakura.
To be honest, I didn't like this manga very much. While the art is pleasant enough, the story is nothing special. The main characters are not particularly endearing either.
What makes me keep this comic is that I like Sakuya and Toba a lot. They're terrifyingly cute together.
